Weekend Update

So I haven't blogged in a while, so the one or two people who read this must really be wondering what's going on.

My potential trip to India still looms on the horizon. They are expanding the Indira Gandhi airport and may need some outside assistance with the design of the technical systems. What we thought might be multiple extended (2 week) trips looks like it would just be a single trip for a week. That is much more manageable, so I feel some relief. And I know Kerry does as well. But how this would fit into an already very busy schedule is not clear.

One the home front we have had several tragic events. My aunt was just diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus. Typically this type of cancer is not good. But it is still early and the doctors did catch it early. Our prayers are with you.

Also this past week a close friend lost several family members in a car crash (and witnessed the entire event). Very tragic.

I hope these things don't come in three's.

It's hard to understand why these things happen, but I typically view them as a shock to our system that takes us out of our comfort zone and helps to build character, strength, and remind us of what is really important in life. Sometimes its hard to look past the daily grind and keep focused on what really matters - family, friends, and God.

Happy Birthday Kerry !!!

Out on the Town

Kerry and I were able to spend an evening out on the town to attend a wedding reception for a co-worker. It was held at Park Cities Club, which is in a very nice part of town a little north of Downtown Dallas. The reception was very nice - they had a small jazz band and good food and drink. We had a very good time and stayed out past our usual 10:30 bedtime.
